Cancun’s Wine & Food Festival celebrates its 10th edition and to make it big we return to the destination that saw the Festival born, Cancun – Riviera Maya. The festival begins Halloween night, October 31st in Playa del Carmen and keeps going through November 4th. Due to the exceptional interest in this year’s festival, a few additional events have also been added such as the World Tasting Market on the 10th and 11th of November.
Starting off the festivities on Halloween Night at Playa del Carmen on a trendy rooftop terrace and is designed to set a fun and festive tone to this year’s food extravaganza. The theme of the party is angels and demons, so guests are invited to party along with the International Stars and the most celebrated chefs of Mexico.
Costumes can be simple, elegant or extreme, just let your personality shine through and help make this a memorable kick-off party for everyone. A host DJ will be performing, and tickets include unlimited drinks, wine and delicious bites from world renown chefs, get ready to dance, drink and eat the night away. Of course, that is just the beginning of what will likely be remembered as one of the most memorable celebrations in Cancun this year.
On Thursday, November 1, 2018, Zoëtry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres, Cancun will host a completely different type of event called the Exquisite Cruise & Cuisine. Tickets to this event include cocktails and canapes before lunch, a five-course meal by Chefs Estrella Daniele Müller and Felipe Vega at Le Metissage restaurant and champagne throughout a cruise on a luxury catamaran. This will be one of the most popular and elegant affairs of the festivals and tickets to this event include everything, all food, drinks, service, and even tips so be sure to book early.
Added to the following weekend on Saturday, November 10th and Sunday, November 11, 2018, is a function called the Wines of the World Tasting Market. This event will take place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm each day in Cancun. The wine tasting tour will include the presentation of wines from Mexico and all around the world including the presence of Vineyard representatives, Winemakers, and Sommeliers. Local restaurants will also be represented and offering tasting dishes, and there will also be a Wine Store where attendees will have the opportunity to purchase bottles or cases of their favorite selections.
The 2018 festival as a whole is not intended to be just another long string of exquisitely paired lunch and dinners. This years event will include yachts, rooftop parties, restaurant feasts, and wine tastings that will bring together star chefs and sommeliers from Mexico, the United States, and Canada in close quarters with the attendees. The organizers’ primary goal is that once the event is over, both chefs and attendees will have had the opportunity to experience some of the best food and wines North America has to offer.
